Regina D. Bowersox, 85, of Frederick, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Northampton Manor Health Care, Frederick. Born February 5, 1929 near New Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Martin Devilbiss and Estella Lowman Devilbiss. Twice married, her first husband was Merton Gorsuch who died in 1950; her second husband was James D. Bowersox who died in 1990.Mrs. Bowersox was a member of Edgewood Church of the Brethren. She retired from AT&T after 20 years of service. She enjoyed baking, traveling, playing canasta, flower and vegetable gardening.Surviving are 2 daughters, Susan Witmer and husband Keith of Hagerstown; Lisa Booth and husband David of Bowie; 2 sons, Austin Gorsuch and significant other, Barbara Slick of Woodsboro and James Bowersox and wife Ruth Ann of Frederick; 2 grandchildren, Kristi Monroe and husband James of Thurmont and Jeffrey Bowersox of Frederick; and 2 sisters-in-law, Miriam Devilbiss and Helen Devilbiss. She will also be fondly remembered by special caregiver, Lori Rickard. She was predeceased by a grandson, James Matthew Bowersox and 2 brothers, Frank E. and William A. Devilbiss.The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, January 16.Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18 at Edgewood Church of the Brethren, 15025 New Windsor Rd., New Windsor, with her pastor, Rev. Paul N. Leatherman Jr., officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ;(American Cancer Society , 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
