Raymond William "Bill" Burdette III, 75, of Middletown, passed away on November 2, 2018 after a 30 year battle with heart disease. He was the loving husband of Carmen Burdette for 53 years. Born February 17, 1943, he was the devoted son of Margaret Schultz Burdette and the late Raymond Burdette, Jr. Bill, whom doctors called a "Miracle Man", was a man who never knew a stranger and always had a positive attitude. He enjoyed his family, traveling especially cruising, trap shooting, fishing, and his garden. He was a member of the Tuscarora Gun Club, Elks Club, and Owls Club and was employed most of his life in the paving industry in Northern Virginia where he retired at Superior Paving, he then was re-employed part time at PNC Bank. In addition to his wife and mother, Bill is survived by his son, Chris Burdette and wife Vicki. Grandchildren, Sarah and Julie Burdette. Great-granddaughter, Averi. Brother, Ralph Burdette and wife Helen. Sisters, Linda Droneburg and Wanda Wiley. Special Uncle, Jim Shafer. Special friends, Virginia and Terry Miller. And many nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends. A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11 am at the Resthaven Funeral Home, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD with Pastor Joseph Burdette officiating. A private family Inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Edgewood Church of God, 8204 Edgewood Church Road, Frederick, MD 21702.
