Rachel Marie Vendemia's Obituary
Rachel Marie Vendemia, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on December 26, 2025. She was born on July 4, 1991, in Baltimore, MD.
Rachel was a devoted and loving mother who dedicated her life to raising her son as a stay at home mom. She had a big heart and a joyful presence that touched everyone around her. Rachel loved music and had a passion for attending concerts, where she felt most alive. She adored horses, enjoyed cold coffee drinks, and cherished watching fireworks on the Fourth of July—an annual celebration that held special meaning as it was also her birthday. She found peace and happiness visiting Solomon's Island, Maryland, a place she loved dearly.
Rachel is survived by her loving and caring mother, Katie Welsh; her father, Robert Vendemia; her beloved son, Jaxson Ray Heim; her partner, Ronald Heim; her grandparents, Edward and Nancy Gunkel; and her aunts, Kim (Paul) Kelly and Terri (Scot) Gunkel.
She was preceded in death by her godfather, Raymond Vendemia.
Rachel was proud to have earned her Nurse Assistant certification, an accomplishment that reflected her caring nature and desire to help others. One of the greatest joys of her life was the birth of her son, Jaxson, on September 8, 2021.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Catoctin Chapel, followed by a Celebration of Life at 7:00 p.m. in the same chapel.
Rachel will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
