Mrs. Phyllis Elaine Reed, 61, of Frederick, passed away at home on March 14th after a year-long battle with cancer. She was the wife of Benjamin Reed, her husband of 42 years. Born in Frederick, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Willie L. Lowe and Mary L. Stull. She was a doting mother, and she loved casinos (particularly the slots at Charles Town), thrift shopping, her pond and flower gardens, and especially her grandkids. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by seven children, Angela "Angie" Dennis (Kurtis), Benjamin "Stinky" Reed, Jr. (Monique), Jessica "Bip" Reed, Shannon "Nick" Warfield (Neilson), Heather "Heya" Reed, Carroll Parks, and Rachel Gillispie; sisters, Bonnie Jaques and Linda McCluskey; nine grandchildren, Brianna, Gavin, Ben III, Sadie, Grayson, Josie, Fionnagh, Rose, and Stella; and many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org).
