Phillip Lee King's Obituary
Phillip Lee King, 76, departed this life on December 21, 2023 at Adventist Health Shady Grove Medical Center at 6:26pm surrounded by his immediate family and loved ones.
Phillip was born on July 26, 1947, to the late Augustus Phillip Palm and Ruth Bernice King in Frederick Maryland and was the oldest of 11 children. He graduated from Frederick High School in 1966. He was born into the Catholic faith and attended St. Catherine Laboure Church for many years. He loved lecturing at Mass and just being a Parishioner of the church.
He was a certified Interior Designer and proud United States Army Veteran. Phillip was also an avid runner who ran in numerous marathons and a certified personal trainer. He was commended by the National Association of Professional Asian American Women (NAPAW) for commitment and dedication to the 1st annual NAPAW Walkathon.
Phillip had an infinite love for personal health, the Dallas Cowboys and his car. He loved going to the pool in the summer to sit in the sun and tan. He loved to travel and recently traveled to Dubai by himself.
He was proceeded in death by his mother, father and sister Annette Brown and his brother Andre Sewell.
Survived to cherish memories and his legacy are his daughter, Akilah King, grandson, Tyler King and granddaughter, Briana Adams. Phillip is also survived by his former wife, Ianthia Gray. Also, to hold his fond memories, Anita Jones, his companion and confidant for eleven years. Phillip is survived by brothers and sisters, Anthony King, Marsha Lyles, Sharon Holland, Donald King, Rodney King, Walter Sewell, Jr., Larnell Sewell and Chantre Sewell and a host of nieces and nephews.
