Mrs. Pauline Elaine "Pete" Bell, 79, of Woodsboro, died Friday, March 27, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born June 13, 1935 in Legore, she was the daughter of the late Oscar"Hop" and Catherine Cannon Ambrose. She was the wife of James C. Bell Sr., her husband of 63 years. Mrs. Bell was a member of Oak Hill Church of God, Legore. She was formerly employed with SAIC of Ft. Detrick and the Frederick County School Board prior to retirement. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Woodsboro Volunteer Fire Co. She enjoyed attending yard sales, reading, playing cards, collecting cookbooks, attending church activities and spending time with her family. She will be missed by her dog, Pugsly. In addition to her husband she is survived by 3 daughters, Debbie Sweeney and husband Randy and Terry Sweeney and husband Bern, all of Thurmont and Susie Trout and husband Daryl of Cottage Grove, TN; a son, Jimmy C. Bell Jr. and wife Midge of Woodsboro; 11 grandchildren, Randy Sweeney Jr. and wife Christine, Tammy Harrington and husband Robert, Jaime West and husband Johnny, Stacey Kerns and husband Colonel, Heather Walter and husband Josh, Dana Stone and husband John, Brittany Fritz and husband Nathan, Brandon Trout and wife Pamela, Joshua and Caleb Trout and Jennifer Foley and husband David; 12 great grandchildren, Danielle, Logan, Aubrey and Mya Harrington, Bralyn and Brinley West, Stella and Sawyer Kerns, Kristopher and Kamdyn Walter, Brooklyn Stone and Payton Fritz; 2 sisters, Barbara Beard of Fairfield, PA and Vicky Ambrose of Legore and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by grandson, Kristopher Sweeney and 2 great grandchildren, Brady West and Baby Ashton West. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, March 31 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, with her pastor, Rev. Mark Ginter, officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, March 30. Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodsboro Volunteer Fire Co., P.O. Box 153, Woodsboro, MD 21798.
