Paul Jackson Thompson, age 68, of Libertytown, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at his home.Born February 25, 1947 in Farmville, VA, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Lucy Mae Gregory Thompson.He was the husband of Patsy Smith Thompson, his wife of 45 years. Mr. Thompson grew up in Boydton, VA and attended Bluestone High School. After several years he moved to Maryland, became a journeyman electrician and worked for Montgomery County Schools for 32 years, retiring in 2002. He was an active member of LibertyCentral United Methodist church, where he was a head trustee. He was also a former vice president and president of Libertytown Civic Association. He was a devoted husband and father and was active in helping others and serving his community. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and more recently enjoyed beekeeping and his Allis Chalmers tractor. He and his wife loved camping and traveling. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter, Christine Thompson of Libertytown; two sisters, Myrtle T. Smith of Hagerstown and Linda T. Young of Sanford, NC; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.He was predeceased by two brothers, Walter M. and Herman A. Thompson.The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Road, Libertytown on Wednesday, November 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 11:00 a.m. at LibertyCentral United Methodist Church, 12024 Main St., Libertytown. Rev. Jerry Cline, his pastor, will officiate.Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LibertyCentral United Methodist Church, P.O.
