Patricia McDermott Scott's Obituary
Patricia "Pat" McDermott Scott passed away on March 1, 2024 in Frederick, MD. She was born on June 6, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to Francis and Helen McDermott.
Pat married John Paul Elsbach (deceased) in New York in 1958. In 1988, she married Francis Scott II (deceased) in Frederick, Maryland. Throughout her life, she found pleasure in both taking part in and watching various sports like basketball, softball, and baseball. Pat cultivated many life-long friends during her lifetime. Although most of her friendships have endured for over 40 years, she remained receptive to new friendships and enjoyed introducing old and new friends to each other. Pat liked to travel, especially to warm locations. One of her favorite things is taking caring of her family. She had a passion for cooking and gardening. Once Pat retired from the United States Post Office, she learned to paint by watching Bob Ross, and later took classes. Over the years, several of her paintings won ribbons at The Great Frederick Fair, which she took great pride in showing friends, family and visitors.
Pat is survived by her five children, Peter Elsbach, Steven Elsbach, Sr. (Elizabeth), Catherine Elsbach, Eric Scott Sr. (Maxine) and Alice Gordon (Michael); seven grandchildren, Jessica Deweerdt (Daniel), Steven Elsbach Jr. (Rita), Eric Scott II (Maria), Clayton Elsbach, Madison Elsbach, Britny Gordon and Brean Smith; 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and brothers, William McDermott and Eugene McDermott (Linda).
Preceded in death are parents, Francis and Helen McDermott; and brothers: Francis McDermott, George McDermott and Robert McDermott.
The Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 6pm until 8pm at Resthaven Funeral Home in Frederick, MD. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 11am with burial service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
