Patricia Ann Diggs' Obituary
Obituary
Patricia Ann Diggs, 74, also affectionately known as “Jack” or “Nanny” claimed her eternal wings peacefully on Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Montgomery County, MD, after a brief illness. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend to many.
She was born in Frederick County, MD on April 8, 1947 to the late Thurman (Jake) Tyler and Florabelle Snowden Tyler.
She is survived by three brothers, Tracy Tyler (Toni) of Mt. Airy, John Dorsey of Silver Spring, and Paul Smith of Westminster; and one sister, Bree Osuegbu (Dan) of Woodstock, MD.
Patricia married the love of her life, Edward Diggs, in September 1965. Through that beautiful union, two children were created, Kimberly Michelle Diggs (deceased) and Sheila Renae Diggs, with whom she resided since the passing of Eddie. She had two grandsons, Brian Cook, Sr. (Shahira) of Rockville, and Tyrell Cook, Sr. of Hagerstown; and ten great grandchildren, Tyrell (TJ), Shawn, Makayla, Amya, Alyeiah, Anestassia, Daniel, Raynah, Micah, and Chalina. She was preceded in death by one brother, Thurman Tyler, Jr.; and one sister, Shirley Dorsey.
Patricia Graduated from Linganore High School in 1965. She worked for National Geographic briefly before deciding to settle in and raise her daughter and remained a homemaker.
Patricia was an amazing woman who loved cooking and spending time with family. She was a caregiver at heart as she cared for four generations of children, ensuring that her grandchildren and great grandchildren would never go to daycare. She enjoyed talking on the phone, playing games on her iPad, and watching old cowboy movies (Gunsmoke in particular). Devoted friends Phyllis Williams and Jerome Cooper.
