Pamela “Pam” Ann Gomez, 78, of Knoxville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Pam was born on November 22, 1947, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, and spent her early years growing up on her parents' farm on Catholic Church Road in Petersville, Maryland.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elaine Heffner; her brother, Carl “Curly” Heffner; and her sister, Charlotte Payne.
Pam is survived by her loving family, including her husband of 39 years, Gerardo; her children, Mary Richardson and husband Jay, Misty Haines and husband Bob, Earl Strine and wife Amy, John Strine and wife Angie, Jessica Lowers and husband Roger, Jennifer Hervet and husband Jonathan, and Angela Figgins and husband Adrian; her sister, Cathy Heffner and husband Wayne; her brother, Toby Heffner; and her sister, Barbara Myers; seventeen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Pam's greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She treasured every opportunity to love, encourage, and care for her family, and she had a special gift for making every child she met feel valued and loved. Whether they were her own children, grandchildren, or someone else's, Pam welcomed them with warmth, kindness, and a nurturing heart.
A devoted follower of Christ, Pam lived her faith through humble service to others. She dedicated many years to caring for children through her work in childcare and found joy in serving her community by volunteering at local soup kitchens. She grew up attending First Baptist Church in Brunswick and, for many years, was a faithful member of Grace Episcopal Church in Brunswick. Her life was a testament to God's love and grace, reflected in the compassion, generosity, and quiet faithfulness she showed to everyone she encountered.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, July 14, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Catoctin Chapel at Resthaven in Frederick.
