I worked for and with Mr. Bourland for many years while a part of the Frederick Cancer Research facility. He was the first employee and I was the second for the National Cancer Institute (NCI) at Frederick. Besides his knowledge on the job, we all were privileged to become his friend through the years. It was nice to have Annette on board for a short while getting the facility and offices set up for the NCI initiative at Frederick. So many accomplishments, due to his own efforts and coordination with all parties involved. AND so many memories since 1972. Very dedicated, honest, funny. And always proud of his children and their families. My husband and I offer our sympathy to all his family.

While Orley Bourland was Burgess for the Town of Walkersville, he was a big supporter of the Maryland State Police Resident Trooper Program. He helped sustain and grow that program to ensure the residents were safe. I was privileged to work for Orley and the Town for several years in the mid-90's along with Andy Cibula and Bill Bergan. Orley was soft spoken, but committed. Rest in Peace Burgess Bourland.
For years, I lived across the street from the Nourishes at 33 Fulton Avenue. The best and the kindest neighbors ever. May God comfort you and your memories sustain you.
