Norman Nelson Legg's Obituary
Obituary
Norman's spirit transcended this life peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his Meadowland home of 48 years in Lewistown, Maryland. He was the son of the late Herbert B. and Bessie Roberts Legg, the husband of Judith Kohlenburg Legg, the father of Barbara Legg Hallowell and Erik Nelson Legg. He was the beloved Pop Pop to his grandson Iain Asher Hallowell. Special people to him were Russell Turner, Alyssa Sheehan, Calvert Beavan, and Case Jordan. For over forty years he was a public school teacher in Ohio, Virginia, and Montgomery County, Maryland. He always found the best in his students and encouraged them to never stop learning. Norman was an avid reader, history, politics and cultural geography expert, and a true naturalist. He had a gentle, kind soul, and a very fair and honest nature. He was an incredible storyteller. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn Legg and Laura Turner. His ashes will return to Summersville, West Virginia. There will be no services.
