Nancy Lee Kemp Wolfe, age 80, died peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was a long time diabetic and her many complications from the disease contributed to her death. Nancy was a lifelong resident of the Libertytown area, residing on Walnut Street at the time of her demise. Born March 24, 1936 in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Alton and Mae Leatherman Kemp and granddaughter of the late Artie and Hannah Kemp. She was the wife of Vernon D. Wolfe, her husband of 55 years. Nancy was a 1954 graduate of Frederick High School and was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren. She was a farmer's wife, and worked with her husband operating a large dairy farm on Coppermine Road prior to retiring to their present residence in Libertytown. She enjoyed going to numerous sales and auctions, collecting all types of antiques and memorabilia. In addition to her husband she is survived by children, R. Tyrone, Lisa Dawn and E. Michael; grandsons, Joshua, Lucas and Zachery; sisters, Betty Eyler of Libertytown and Caroline Miller of Hagerstown and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins in the surrounding area. She was predeceased by a son, Tyler Wayne Wolfe and granddaughter, Danielle Kemp. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown, with Rev. Greg Quintrell, pastor of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, officiating. Interment will be follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 16. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Glade Valley Nursing Home and Frederick Memorial Hospital for their care and many acts of kindness during Nancy's illness.
