Nancy Caroline Tamse's Obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Nancy Caroline Tamse. Nancy passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 93 in Frederick, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jacob G. Tamse, her parents and four siblings.
Born December 9, 1932, in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Leonard Wesley Williamson and Edna Dora Gilbert. She met the love of her life, Jacob Tamse in 1950 and they were married in 1952. She was born to bring joy and kindness to those around her. She loved driving, dancing, baseball and bowling. She was quite good at all of them. She touched the lives of many with her warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to family and friends. Her compassion for others and her generous heart made a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Throughout her life, she exemplified strength, resilience, and a passion for life’s simple pleasures. Whether sharing laughter at family gatherings or offering wise counsel in times of need, her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration. One of her greatest joys was caring for her dogs. When she could no longer care for one of her own, she doted on her grand dogs and her neighbors’ dogs, spoiling them with pets and treats.
She leaves behind her daughter, Donna Tamse Roggmann (Jack) and her son Thomas Allen Tamse. Five grandchildren – Sarah Joyner (Scott), Michael Roggmann (Courtney), Kristin Potter (J.P), Kim Vara (Sam) and Katie Tamse. Seven great grandchildren – William McHenry, Jonathan McHenry, Olivia Potter, Liam Vara, Byrce Potter, Asher Vara and Elizabeth Vara. A long list of loving extended family members, cherished friends, and countless others whose lives were enriched by her friendship and love. We honor her memory by carrying forward the lessons she taught us—kindness, perseverance, love for one another and to always stay active.
A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate her remarkable life. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 US 15N, Frederick, MD. Interment will follow at 12:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge #684, Willowdale Drive, Frederick, MD.
