Obituary
Mr. Michael Robert Reed, 62, of Frederick, passed away on June 19, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Jeannie Reed, whom he married on February 1, 1985. Michael was born in Danville, PA, the son of the late Robert J. and Mary Elizabeth Reed. He graduated from Walkersville High School, Class of 1974 and worked as a fuel delivery driver for Southern States. He enjoyed smallbore and high-power target shooting, hunting, model rocketry and fishing; but what he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family and granddogs, going to the river, camping, and bringing joy to others in the role of Santa for many years. In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Reed is survived by a son, Sean & wife Kim of Frederick; his two granddogs, Dakota (a.k.a. Pappy's Princess) and Beau (a.k.a. Bow Tie); and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Christopher and Steven Reed. Special thanks to Michael's family, friends and caregivers who supported him throughout his battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 1 - 3 PM on Thursday, June 21st at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, where a funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM on Thursday.
