Michael Reid Raleigh's Obituary
Obituary
Michael Reid Raleigh, 52, of Jefferson, died December 11, 2016 following a lengthy illness. Born October 7, 1964 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John J. and Margaret Janet Raleigh. He faithfully attended St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Walkersville. He was a graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Wheaton, Maryland and Towson State University. He served for 26 years as an officer for the Montgomery County Police Department where he attained the rank of Sergeant. Michael was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, enjoyed listening to music and playing guitar, and was an accomplished gardener. Most of all, he loved to spend time at home with his loving wife and the daughter he adored. To all who were blessed to know him, Michael brought love, joy, laughter and a hint of mischief. He is survived by his wife Deann and daughter Anna of Jefferson, his sister Kathleen Lilley of New Market, his brothers Kevin Raleigh of Middletown and Dino Flores of Walkersville, and his loving in-laws: mother Jo-Ann Jackson, Brian and Laura Jackson, Rusty Lilley and Dotty Raleigh. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews Eric, Shannon, Brian, Megan, Sean and Brendan who were always entertained by his colorful storytelling. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 15th at St. Timothy's Catholic Church of Walkersville, 8651 Biggs Ford Rd. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy, Frederick, Md. There will be no public visitation.
