This is a post made in honor of my dear friends and family member Meg, short for megalodon Mike.
I first met Meg on TikTok four years ago, I was doing my first live ever and I was painting and that’s how he found me. He shortly became a good friend that turns into a family member.
When he first came to visit me within a few months, he came and stayed with my family and my children.. He brought his Marilyn’s crabs and sausages, although my dogs ate the sausages behind their bags. We enjoyed the wine that he brought that his family made.
He brought all these amazing gifts for us, ranging from megalodon teeth to shark tooth necklaces that he had created for my kids, and I. We ventured out to the forest, he car served on top of my car, we sledded down the still snowy mountains with my dogs.
From there he would continue to drive like a bat out of hell somehow in one night gap down to visit, whether it was to support my nervous self singing, or whether it was to take care of me when I was pregnant and helped, or even to take me to the hospital or IV treatments, he was always there. He was one of the biggest supporters of my art in my singing that I’ve ever had in my life. He would always tell me I’d be crazy to stop doing that, so my life continues in a new honorary direction for him.
I would always love to hear him talk about how he loved his children so much and raising them into what he thought were exceptional adults, his beautiful granddaughter that he would rant about, his mother that he loved so dearly.
I loved to hear him talk about the dreams of moving to the sea, and continuing as fossil hunt, as he worked effortlessly with amazing work ethic through the decades he spent as a gym teacher. We finally made it and it goes to show all of us to sometimes we make it there, but it’s not the amount of time so you have to enjoy it so live fast while we’re here.
I had expected so many more years and the last thing I expected was his son and death, he was such an angel on this earth that I’m sure we’ve gained a guardian angel on our shoulders. My heart goes out to his daughter and his grandchildren and all of his family members and anyone whose life he ever touched.
A man of strength, love, compassion and stubbornness, a gentle heart, and a huge bear hug, and a mischievous, grinning smile, as I head to his memorial service I wish those things were at the door waiting for me, but they will always be in spirit.
