Merilyn E. Moser's Obituary
Merilyn E. Moser, 94, of Middletown, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, January 27th, at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center, Frederick, Maryland.
Born October 17th, 1931, in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Amidee E. and Olive Guyton Eckard. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean G. Oxley; and two brothers, Cecil O. Eckard and Lee A. Eckard.
Merilyn was a 1950 graduate of Middletown High School and later, in 1989, earned a Basic Nursing Assistant certificate from Frederick Community College.
Merilyn worked as a C&P telephone operator for several years before becoming a parent and housewife. After raising her four children, she returned to work as an interior decorator for Montgomery Wards, Frederick and later worked as a Geriatric Nursing Aid with HomeCall, Frederick.
After retiring, Ms. Moser was an active volunteer with the Frederick Health Hospital Ladies Auxillary. She volunteered her time making hundreds of knitted baby caps, neck pillows, lap quilts, wheelchair bags, surgical gowns, and activity blankets. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, reading, and spending time with her dog and family.
Surviving are two sons, J. Thomas Moser, Jr. and B. Eric Moser and his wife Leslie, all of Middletown; two daughters, Lois M. Dinterman and her husband Mike of Oxford, North Carolina and Lori L. Keedy of Rohrersville, Maryland; and one granddaughter, Ashley L. Keedy of Boonsboro, Maryland.
Family will announce a celebration of life gathering in the future. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, Maryland.
