Melvin Wesley Tucker's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Melvin Wesley Tucker, who was received into God’s arms on January 24, 2025, at the age of 77. Melvin was born on April 11, 1947, to the late Melvin Milton and Gloria Tucker. Melvin passed away peacefully surrounded by family and love. Melvin’s entire life was a testament to the enduring power of faith and love.
He was a devoted and cherished husband of Chae Sun Tucker for over 55 years. He was a loving and caring father to Raymond (Gina) Tucker and a very proud grandfather to Noah. Melvin was a veteran of the Vietnam War and spent several tours of duty in Asia. After serving US Army for 20 years, Melvin retired as a Master Sergeant and was honorably discharged.
Melvin dedicated his entire life to his family. He was a man of great honor and integrity who always put the needs of his family first, teaching all of us the importance of compassion and generosity. Known for his strong work ethic, deep abiding Christian faith, and commitment to family, he will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. Melvin served the Christian community through South End Baptist Church for over 30 years as a Deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and in the nursing home ministry playing piano at local nursing homes.
In keeping with Melvin’s wishes, no viewing or funeral services will be held. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Daybreak Adult Day Services (www.daybreakadultdayservices.org) or Frederick Health Hospice (www.frederickhealthhospice.org) .
