Mrs. Maryanna Biggus' Obituary
Mrs. Maryanna Biggus, 88, of Frederick, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2023 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She went Home to be with the Lord and her late-husband, Stanley Ralph Biggus, Sr., whom she married in 1954.
Born February 8, 1935 in Frederick, Maryanna was the daughter of the late-Austin and Estelle Rollins. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a passion for cooking and baking and was exceptional and well-known for both. Her favorite ingredient was love. That love was always extended to friends and family when visiting her home. She loved to share her bread, pies, cakes, or anything she was cooking. She enjoyed decorating her home during the holidays and her baking made memorable moments and holiday traditions. She loved to garden and can vegetables; and she enjoyed sewing quilts for her grandchildren. She was an avid Bingo player and played often; and she cherished the time spent with family and her many friends.
Mrs. Biggus is survived by three children, William Biggus (Donna) of Bolingbrook, IL; Sabrina Davis (Frank) of Middletown, MD; Bengie Biggus (Angela) of Blufton, SC; and daughter-in-law Jacqueline Biggus, Frederick, MD; eight grandchildren, Samantha Biggus, Cameron Davis, Kyra Perkins (Andrew), Bridget Biggus, Sabrina Biggus, Sontia Hewlett (Keymoy), Morgan Jean-Francois (Schadrack), and Ari Biggus; seven great-grandchildren, Mikiah Parker, Preston Perkins, Ava Perkins, Darien McGee, Kinsley Hall, Keymoy Hewlett, Jr. and Kieran Hewlett; sisters, Joanne Rollins and Delores Hall ( Kirk); brothers, Joseph Rollins, Robert Rollins, Stevie Harper (Anna); brother-in-law Melvin Worthington, Sr., and godson Melvin Worthington, III; her caregiver Roslyn Gray; loving nieces Theresa Randolph and Rosaline Davis who also provided care; special friend Phyllis Weedon; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives who will cherish her memory.
In addition to her loving husband, Mrs. Biggus was preceded in death by three sons, Stanley Ralph Biggus, Jr., Charles Edward Biggus, and Ray Michael Biggus; a grand-daughter, Chrisann Biggus; sisters Clara Mitchell, Bessie Ingram, Consuela Gilmore and Catherine Worthington; brothers Austin Rollins, Jr., James Rollins, Sr., Bernard Rollins, Richard Rollins, Sr. and Charles Harper; and a godson Edward Ingram.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 11th at Asbury United Methodist Church, 101 W. All Saints Street in Frederick, where a Homegoing service will begin at 12:00 PM. Funeral procession and interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. Floral tributes are welcome.
