Mary Catherine Reed's Obituary
Mary Catherine Reed, a kind and loving woman with a deep love for her family and her faith, passed away at Washington Hospital Center on January 16, 2024. She was born on October 4, 1939, to her beloved parents, Ed and Emma Davis. Mary was a devoted wife, a caring mother, a cherished grandmother, and great grandmother leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Kenneth Reed, who shared a lifetime of incredible memories with her. Together, they built a strong and beautiful family that Mary held close to her heart. She leaves behind her daughters, Brenda Angell and her husband Jay, and Sue Eyler and her husband Randy, who were the pride and joy of her life.
In addition to her daughters, Mary was adored by her grandchildren, Joshua (Kristina) Angell, Kelly (Jonathan) Czerkies, Danny (Gracie) Eyler, Michael (Mya) Angell as well as her great-grandchildren, Alexis Angell, Katie Eyler, Wyatt Angell, Jaxon Czerkies, Emmalyn Czerkies. and brothers Howard (Linda) Davis, Tom Davis. She was predeceased by siblings Chester Kerns, Ada Kerns, and Charlotte Reed. Mary's kind-hearted nature extended beyond her immediate family, and she cherished her relationships with her nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary is also survived by her Aunt and best friend Helen Harne.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will take place on January 24, 2024, from 10 am to 12 pm at Morning Star Family Church, located at 14698 Albert Staub Road, Thurmont, MD 21788. A heartfelt funeral service will follow the visitation at 12 pm.
Mary will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, located at 9501 Catoctin Mtn Hwy, Frederick, MD 21701. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Mary's honor to Morning Star Family Church, where she found her faith and devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus. Alternatively, a tree may be planted in Mary's honor, symbolizing the everlasting love and beauty she brought into the world.
Though Mary's physical presence may be absent, her memory and the love she shared with her family and friends will forever remain in their hearts. She will be deeply missed and remembered as a remarkable woman of faith whose kindness and devotion touched the lives of all who knew her.
She treasured each moment spent with them and filled their lives with love and joy.
