Obituary
Mrs. Mary Thelma Carone, 94, of Mount Airy, passed away on November 26, 2017 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. She was the wife of the late Frank Carone, who passed in 2007. Born in Westminster, Thelma was the daughter of the late Norbert and Edna Blanche Daley. She graduated from Georgetown Visitation in Washington, DC in 1943. While attending college, Thelma enjoyed going to U.S.O. dances, where she met her future husband. Frank and Thelma were married on May 26, 1951. Thelma enjoyed cooking, quilting and sewing, and traveling with Frank on cruises from near their home in Florida. Thelma was also extremely charitable, and her undying kindness to her neighbors was deeply appreciated. Mrs. Carone was preceded in death by a son, Christopher. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Carone of Sykesville and Roberta Carone Bolton of Adirondack, NY; one granddaughter, Rachel Marie Lasky; a brother, Bernard Daley of South Carolina; two sisters, Teresa Jones of Port Tobacco, MD and Marian Schmeling of Berkeley Springs, WV; a daughter-in-law, Carol Carone; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 1st from 11:00 AM - 12:00 Noon at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, where a funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Floral tributes are welcome, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
