Marvin Shepherd's Obituary
Marvin Blaine Shepherd passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in Frederick, Maryland at the age of 65 surrounded by his family after his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born February 14, 1959 in Kansas City, MO to Paul and Louise Shepherd.
An all-conference football player, Marvin attended Grandview High School and University of Missouri at Rolla. He had a successful career as a systems architect working at Wal-Mart Headquarters in Bentonville, AR and most recently Leidos Biomedical, National Institute of Health at Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD. He loved cooking for his family and friends, sang in his church’s praise team, enjoyed traveling and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs. His smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Marvin was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, affectionately known as “Grampy”. Marvin is survived by his wife Andrea, their two children Michelle Paul (wife of Colin Paul) and Tyler Shepherd, and also his daughter Jennifer Gilbert (partner Kyle Perrin) as well as five grandchildren; Anne Paul, Emily Paul, Lucy Paul, Casey Perrin and Rosalie Perrin. He is survived by his mother, Louise Shepherd; brothers Stephen and James (Jim) Shepherd; and sister, Sarah Beth Powell. Marvin is preceded by his father, Paul Shepherd.
Memorial services for Marvin with be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 26th at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick, MD and 10:30 AM, Friday, May 3rd at Bella Vista Lutheran Church in Bella Vista, AR.
