It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marsha Ann Hebb née Chesley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Marsha peacefully departed this world on August 26, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.
Born on October 3, 1948, Marsha's life was a tapestry woven with love and joy. Her outgoing and quick-witted personality endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a gift for making others smile and laugh, bringing light into every room she entered.
Marsha was the loving wife of Thurmond "Bill" Hebb and the proud mother of a daughter, Carrie Hetrick, and her son, Scott Altemus. Her role as a mother brought her immense joy, and she was an unwavering source of support and guidance for her children. Marsha's genuine love for her family knew no bounds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl J. Chesley Sr., and Doris Chesley née Secor, her brother, Earl Chesley Jr, as well as her loyal golden retrievers, Maggie and Whimsey, and her beloved cat, Mr. Kitty. Though they have crossed the rainbow bridge, their memories remain intertwined with the happiness Marsha brought to her household.
Marsha's legacy continues through the lives she touched. She is survived by her devoted husband, Thurmond "Bill" Hebb, her daughter Carrie Hetrick and son-in-law Dennis Hetrick, her son Scott Altemus, her grandsons Dylan Hetrick and Beau Altemus, her granddaughters Courtney Hetrick and Emelia Altemus, numerous nieces, friends, and loved ones. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit forward, remembering her with fondness and love.
Throughout her career, Marsha worked as an Executive Assistant in Banking and Real Estate, contributing her talents and skills to her profession. Her dedication and hard work left an indelible mark on those she worked with, earning her the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Her passion for animals carried over to her skills as a Veterinary Assistant. Marsha also contributed her time and love to Kline Hospice House as a volunteer.
Graveside services to celebrate Marsha's life will be held on August 30, 2023, at 11 am at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, located at 9501 Catoctin Mtn Hwy, Frederick, MD 21701. This will be a time for family and friends to come together, sharing stories and memories as they bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose presence touched so many lives.
Marsha Ann Hebb's legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Kline Hospice House, in memory of Marsha.
As we say goodbye to a beloved wife, mother, and friend, let us remember Marsha's vibrant spirit and carry her light forward in our own lives. Rest in peace, dear Marsha, knowing that your memory will forever be a blessing to us all.
