Obituary
Marie Jackson, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother left this life for the next life on Sunday morning, March 15, 2015.Born to Emily Robinson Moran and Thomas Moran on March 16, 1929 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, she was one day short of 86 years. Marie had a full life of which the family is extremely proud. Being raised in Northern Ireland in World War II she survived numerous German bombings of Belfast. Forced to quit school to go to work as a seamstress at the age of 13, after the passing of her father, she eventually immigrated to the US through New York at the age of 19. There she worked for RKO and volunteered in the USO, where she eventually met her husband Bob of 56 years who was serving in the Navy during Korea. They moved extensively over the next 50 years as she supported her husband in his career, raising three children in the process. Marie proudly became a US citizen in 1960. She eventually finished her education and pursued her own career with the Target Corporation in the merchandising area at the corporate office. They retired to Frederick, Maryland in June of 1998. Marie was a parishioner and member of the choir at St. John the Evangelist in Frederick.Marie is preceded in death by her husband Bob and son Greg. She is survived by son Rob (wife Sher) and daughter Shawna (husband John); grandchildren Travis, Brandon, Ryan, Trevor, Kurtis, Rachael, Lindsay, Colin and step-grandchildren Brandon Whitehead and Tiffany Mitchell also survive her. She was proud of her great-grandchildren Nikki, Ryder, Cody, Keegan, Alyssa, Mathew, Blake, Hayley, Aidan, and Sean.Viewing will be held at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 US Rt. 15 North on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 7 to 9pm. The funeral will be on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 11am at St. John's, 118 E. 2nd Street, Frederick. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens; floral tributes are welcome.
