Margaret L Slusser's Obituary
Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Louise Slusser, 68, of Thurmont and formerly of Monrovia, MD, went Home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2016 after a battle with cancer. She was the wife of Martin Slusser, her husband of 31 years. Born in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Eric and Lena Waldow. Margaret worked as a pharmacy technician before earning her certification as a CNA. She loved having a career where she was able to help people and make them feel better, and the time she spent with her children and grandchildren was truly precious to her. In addition to her loving husband, Margaret is survived by three children, John Grubbs, Desiree DeVries, and Michelle Grubbs; nine "perfect" grandchildren: John Charles Grubbs, Austin Grey Grubbs, Tiffani Amber Grubbs, Nicholas Chandler DeVries, Kevin Michael DeVries, Tyler Mark DeVries, Shelby Lauren Wright, Emily Ann Nikolaus, and Rebecca Michelle Nikolaus; and a great-grandchild, Paxton Martin DeVries. She will also be sorely missed by many sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 PM on Tuesday, May 24th at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25th. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's name may be made to any of the following: The American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org), United Cerebral Palsy (www.ucp.org), or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
