Mrs. Margaret Skekel Sledge's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Skekel Sledge, 88, of Frederick, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023 at Northampton Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Frederick. She was the loving wife of Frank Sledge, whom she married on May 25, 1991.
Born December 24, 1934 in Monessen, PA, Maggie was the daughter of the late John and Helen Murin. She attended the University of Maryland and worked in the custom printing industry for many years. She also served as an administrator at Saint Luke's United Methodist Church in Georgetown. Maggie was an avid fan of theater, and was active with the British Embassy Players making costumes, doing hair and makeup, and occasionally appearing on stage.
In addition to her loving husband Frank, Maggie is survived by her son, David Skekel & his wife Donna; grandchildren Matthew and Emma, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her seven siblings.
A memorial service will take place at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, June 20th at Brook Hill United Methodist Church, 8946 Indian Springs Rd, Frederick, MD 21702. Inurnment will be private in Monessen, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
