Ms. Margaret Pearl Evans' Obituary
Margaret Pearl (Brescoach) Evans walked peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 23, 2023, at her home, surrounded throughout the day by those who loved her. Born February 13, 1930 in Whitman Creek, West Virginia, she was the 5th of eight children born to Louis and Rosa Brescoach, both of whom predeceased her. Margaret (Margie) was also predeceased by her loving son, Kevin Evans, and all of her brothers and sisters whom she often visited with and cared for throughout her life. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Evans Pennington and her husband Frank, and her five grandchildren Jason (Jenn) Shipley, Meghan (Eric) King, Linnet (Andrew) Miller, Amy (Paul) Kegley and Brandon (Jess) Evans. She is also survived by her two step-granddaughters, Stephanie (Brent) Hickey and Ariel (Rob) Britt, as well as fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom adored her.
Margie was a fierce lover of her family, including her many nieces and nephews, and her greatest joy was spending time with them watching sporting events, dance recitals, doing puzzles or playing cards. Most of her career was spent in the grocery business, working for A&P and then Magruder’s. After retiring from Magruder’s at age 62, she spent many years baking delicious desserts for the Quail Ridge Inn in Mount Airy. Her desserts and recipes were sought after by many, and she always lovingly provided desserts for every family gathering, holiday or birthday party. Her favorite past-times were gardening, bowling, playing bingo and beating anyone she could at Rummy, which happened often. She will forever be remembered for her fierce independence and strong will, but mostly for her amazing ability to love and protect her precious family.
Her celebration of life will be held on April 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Chapel, 6802 Boyers Mill Road, New Market, Maryland.
