Maggie Ann Cotter's Obituary
Mt Airy - Maggie Ann Cotter (nee Leeney), of Urbana, Maryland, passed away on January 31, 2024, at the age of 66 in Mt Airy, Maryland. She was born on May 23, 1957, in Tucson, Arizona. Maggie is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Cotter, and her daughters Shannon Russell, Dana Cotter, and Rachael Cotter as well as by her stepmother Judith Leeney. She was a cherished grandmother to Emma Russell and a beloved aunt to Chloe and Ellie Oslin.
Maggie was preceded in death by her father, Robert Leeney, her mother, Ann, and her sister, Mary Oslin.
Maggie was endlessly caring, kind-hearted, and generous. The door to her home was always open. She loved teaching and nurturing children. She was intensely interested in and devoted to others - always ready with a bright smile, big hug, and supportive words. Maggie was a great friend, mentor, and cheerleader to those in her life. Her resilient, loving spirit touched many hearts and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was a graduate of St. Bernards High School in Groton, Connecticut, and received a Bachelor's of Science Degree from the Eastern Connecticut State College in Early Childhood Education.
A private memorial service will be held for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sisters of the Presentation, St. Colman’s Convent 11 Haswell Rd, Watervliet, NY 12189, in Maggie's memory.
