Ms. Lynne Anthonia Constance's Obituary
In loving memory of Lynne Anthonia Constance, aged 70, who was born in Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) on September 28, 1953, to Anthony Constance and Ena Rawlins. In August of 1984, after completing her primary education, she migrated to the United States, settling in Maryland. She later pursued her passion for culinary arts at L’Academie de Cuisine, where she honed her skills and became a chef.
Lynne, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, gracefully departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories on March 4, 2024. Lynne's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, passion, and unwavering devotion to her family. Beyond the boundless love she poured into her children and grandchildren, Lynne's spirit radiated through her passions and interests, touching the lives of all who knew her.
An aficionado of culinary arts, Lynne found joy and solace in the kitchen, where she crafted delectable Caribbean dishes that danced with flavor and tradition. Her Curry Chicken, Lamb, and Pelau were renowned for their tantalizing aroma and mouthwatering taste. And no meal was complete without one of her signature desserts—whether it be her sour cream, fruit cake or the rich indulgence of her rum cakes. Lynne’s love for cooking extended beyond her own creations; she found inspiration and delight in watching cooking shows, with a particular fondness for Julia Child's timeless expertise and the captivating drama of the British Bake-Off series.
Among Lynne's many passions were her admiration for the Royal Family, especially the revered Queen of England. Whenever a significant royal event unfolded, Lynne could be found, savoring the moment with her favorite cup of British tea, her eyes sparkling with admiration and respect.
A woman of faith, Lynne found solace and inspiration in the timeless melodies of traditional hymns and worship music, each note resonating with her unwavering devotion to the Lord. Her soul found joy in the uplifting tunes of Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack, Phil Collins, Aretha Franklin, and Al Green, whose voices filled her heart with comfort and peace. Additionally, Lynne found solace in the grandeur of classical music and opera, finding respite in the masterpieces of Tchaikovsky, Mozart, and Handel's Messiah.
Our dearly beloved Lynne was preceded in death by her father and mother. She leaves behind her loving children: Donnalynn, Anterio Constance, Jared Laurent, and Yannick Tessema; siblings, Carol Constance, Elfred North, Rose Constance, Arthur Constance, David Constance, Anthony Constance and Leon Constance; as well as 6 grandchildren: Justin Contance, Dominic Constance, Sahara Laurent, Bella Laurent, Gianna Laurent, and Jared Laurent.
As we mourn Lynne's passing, let us also celebrate the vibrant life she led and the love she so generously shared. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts, a beacon of love and inspiration for generations to come.
“If Roses Grow in Heaven” – Dolores M. Garcia
If roses grow in heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me, place them in my Mother’s arms and tell her they’re from me. Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while. Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, but there’s an ache within my heart that will never go away.
