Luz Maria Borrero, 94, of Frederick, passed away on September 24, 2018, after a brief illness surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Alfredo Borrero who passed away in 2008. She was born September 27, 1923 in Panama, where she met her husband who was stationed there with the United States Army. After marrying they came to the United States in 1956 where they lived and raised their family. Luz became a United States Citizen in 1970 and worked for the Prince George's County School system for 20 years. Her biggest joy in life was raising and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandson. She is survived by her daughter Rida Mitchell and husband Julian; Son, Alfred Borrero; Grandchildren, Robert Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, and Amanda Sisson and husband Bobby; great-grandson, Bobby Jr.; two sisters and a brother, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Panama.
