Mrs. Lucille Benton's Obituary
Lucille Benton, beloved wife of the late Sam Jethro Benton, Jr. formerly of Hyattsville, Maryland and current resident of Westminster, Maryland passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, December 18, 2022.
Lucille was born to the late Elizabeth Hager Williams and Frank Williams in the District of Columbia on September 16, 1932. She married Sam and moved from Washington, D.C. to Hyattsville where they bought a home in which she resided until she was not longer ambulatory. There they raised a family, ran a business, and served their community. Lucille retired from her beloved role as a cafeteria lady in the Prince George’s County Public School System.
She is the mother of Patricia Daly and husband Daniel, Robert Benton, William Benton, Peggy Manyette, Bennett Benton and wife Alice, Pandee Dodge, and husband John.
Lucille is the loving grandmother of Robert Benton, Daniel Daly, Ronald Benton and wife Donna, Brentt Hanna, Sean Daly and wife Misty, Brad Hanna and wife Patty, Darin West, Crisdee Miller and husband Matt, and Chad Dodge. She is great grandmother of Joey, Tiffany, Colton, Emily, Sean, Daniel, Logan, Leo, Holden, Lukeos, Lilee, and Bianka. She is predeceased by her daughter-in-law Cindy Benton and son -in-law Jimmy Manyette.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at which time a funeral service will commence in the chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 9501-B Catoctin Mountain Highway (U.S. Rte. 15 north) Frederick, Maryland 21701.
