Mr. Louis Philip Kummer's Obituary
Louis Philip "Buddy" Kummer, 69, of Frederick, MD passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Buddy was born in Newark, NJ and spent his childhood and early adulthood in NJ before relocating with his family to MD.
Buddy was a U.S. Air Force veteran and spent 40+ years working in nuclear quality assurance. His specialized knowledge and experience was well sought after which led him to leading projects at nuclear power plants around the world. Buddy loved cars, military airplanes, golf, and road trips. He enjoyed visiting his family, going to the shooting range with his sons, and exploring the various places his work took him.
He was predeceased by his parents, Louis “Buddy” and Caroline Kummer, and a brother, William “Billy” Kummer. Buddy is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lynne; four children, Bryan (Amy), Matthew, Lindsey (Jon), and James; four grandchildren, Theo, Lydia, Anna, and Jeffrey; and six siblings, Kathleen (Paul), Tim (Mitzy), Anna (Rich), Michael (Mary), John, and Patrick (Tammy).
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Frederick, MD on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 12:00pm funeral service at Resthaven following the visitation.
