Mr. Louis Anthony Alberti, Jr., 89, of Frederick, Maryland passed away peacefully on September 1, 2016 at Country Meadows. He was the loving husband of Mary L. Roberts Alberti, his wife of 71 years. He was born on June 27, 1927 in Washington, DC to the late Louis Anthony Alberti, Sr. and Louisa Carmody Alberti. "Tony" served his country during WWII by volunteering for the Merchant Marines prior to being drafted into the United States Army where he served in Italy from 1945-46. Following active service, he continued his service in the Army National Guard and Army Reserves, obtaining the rank of Master Sargent. Following retirement from the service he remained active in the 29th and 88th Division Associations as well as the VFW and Maryland Home Guard. He was also a member of the Antique Truck Historical Society. He was co-owner of Alberti Transportation Companies with his brother Dominick. These included Alberti Van and Storage, Mercury Van Lines, Mercury Air Freight and Montgomery Truck Leasing. Recognition by his peers included serving as President of the Movers and Warehouseman's Association of America and the American Movers Conference. Tony and Mary lived in Olney for many years and were active in the Chamber of Commerce and Olney Theatre Center. They retired to Williamsburg, Va. And later became residents of Crestwood Village of Frederick, where he was active as a trustee and treasurer. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children; Linda Donaghy (James), Betsy Reniere (Norman), Louis A. Alberti III (Brooke), Charles Alberti (Lisa) and Rob Alberti (Taylor). Grandchildren; Dawn Lilly (Randy), James Donaghy (Bonnie), Amy Morgan (Jeff), Maureen Donaghy (Robert Naranjo), Crystal Smiles-Tharp (Shannon), Charles Alberti (Samantha), Anthony Alberti IV, and Nicholas Alberti. Great-grandchildren; Mary, Eamon, Jonathan, Miles, Kai, Victoria, Caroline, Cameron, Austin, and Kasey. Sister; Angela Brennan. And many nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 6th at the Historical Chapel at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, Maryland where the service will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the Garden of Veterans II with Military Honors.
