Mrs. Lorna Jean Henry's Obituary
Lorna Jean Henry, 81, of Walkersville, MD; went home to be with Jesus on Friday, May 10th, 2024. Born, Lorna Jean Maki, in Hibbing, MN on May 30th, 1942; she moved to Virginia to peruse secretarial work for the United States government. As fate would have it, she would meet a young man named, Stanley Henry, stationed in the area with the US Navy. Just four weeks after meeting, Lorna and Stan wed on March 10th, 1962; and so began their journey together. They welcomed 4 beautiful children and traveled the world together. Lorna would go on to devote herself to her children and supporting Stan through his work with the Navy. She selflessly dedicated herself to helping and supporting others in a magnitude of ways. Lorna was intelligent and wise beyond her years. She was also an incredibly talented artist, showing her creativity in everything she did. Throughout the years she watched and cared for her grandchild near and far; attending every game and performance that she possibly could.
Lorna had an incredible presence about her; always touching the hearts of those she encountered and leaving them with a smile. Lorna enjoyed spending time crafting, visiting with her friends and family, frequenting the locate thrift shop or yard sale, being at church and always with a cup of coffee in hand.
Lorna is preceded in passing by her parents, Hugo and Sadie Maki; and her husband, Stanley Henry. Lorna is survived by her sisters, Rochelle (Richard) Gustafson and Karen (Ronald) DeMartin; her children, Dina Angleberger, Donna (Kevin) Moore, Doreen (Charles) Henry and Scott (Amy) Henry.; and grandchildren, Kersti (Brandon) McKinney, Karly (Samuel) Yonker, Neal Angleberger, Paige Henry, Carla (Tony) Angleberger, Charles (Madison) Henry, Jared Henry, Sarah Henry, Justin Pro, Daphne Pro and Hugo Henry; and great grandchildren, Oliver McKinney, Luke Yonker, Levi Yonker, and Raegan Henry.
The family will celebrate Lorna and her joyous life in a private graveside ceremony. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your favorite charity or cause in memory of Lorna.
