Linda Lou Ward's Obituary
Ms. Linda Lou Ward, 70, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023, at Complete Care in Hagerstown.
Born July 26, 1952, Linda was the daughter of the late Carmel and Frances Smith. Linda was a great animal lover, an avid gardener and an excellent cook, and she also loved to crochet and knit. She was hard-working, and always helped others without even taking time for herself.
Linda is survived by three siblings, Ilene Myers of Frederick, MD, Clyde “Petey” Smith of Florida, and Dennis “Denny” Smith of Downsville, MD; four children, Sherry Floyd of Hagerstown, MD, Jerald “Jay” Ward, Jr. of Hagerstown, MD, Ricky Ward of Silver Spring, MD, and Walter “Woody” Ward II of Mount Airy, MD; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Shirley Herrell and Betty Norris, and her brother, Carmel “Jimmy” Smith, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29th from 6 – 8 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home & Community Center, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy. in Frederick, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 30th. Floral tributes are welcome, or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ALS Association (als.org).
