Mrs. Linda Lu (Lowe) Reed, 65, formerly a resident of Myersville, MD, went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2016 after a battle with lung cancer. She was the loving and devoted wife of Albert William Reed, her husband of 49 years. Born on November 30, 1950, Linda was the daughter of the late Charles Lowe and Janet Barnhouse-Lowe. She raised five of her own children and so many others she was known to everyone as "Nanny". In addition to her loving and devoted husband, Linda is survived by five children, Charles Reed & wife Sherri of Cumberland, MD, Linda Reed of Lumberton, NC, Mary Reed-Stambach & husband Steve of Keymar, MD, Eugene Reed & wife Angela of Cumberland, and Janet Reed of Martinsburg, WV; a sister, Rita Booth Rutherford of Tazewell, VA; brothers, Charles "Billy" Lowe of Princess Anne, MD, and Tommy "Boss" Lowe & wife Teya of Thurmont; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Johnson. Linda's entire family would like to acknowledge the nurses and doctors of Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown , MD, notably Dr. Mahmoud Bazzi, Dr. Victoria Giffi, and Dr. Madge Mavromatis, as well as the nurses at Western Regional Medical Center in Cumberland. The extended Reed and Lowe families would like to thank everyone who was present through Linda's extended illness and gentle, peaceful passing for their continued love and support. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 1st from 6 - 8 PM at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, where a funeral service will begin at 12:30 PM on Wednesday. There will be a procession by foot from the chapel to Linda's gravesite in the Garden of Memory for committal. Floral tributes are welcome, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
