Leonard Thomas "JT" King, 79, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at his home in Jefferson, Maryland surrounded by his family. Born on January 15, 1945, in Richmond, Virginia, JT lived a life marked by dedication to his family and his passions.
JT's professional life was deeply intertwined with his personal values. He work constructed all of his life, and alongside his beloved wife, Mary, he owned and operated a construction business, a testament to his hardworking and fearless nature.
Beyond his professional achievements, JT was a man of many interests. He enjoyed butchering with his friends and family. He had a profound love for restoring old cars, a hobby that saw him frequenting car shows, where he shared his passion and expertise with fellow enthusiasts. His love for the outdoors was evident in his regular retreats to his campsite at Riverbend, where he indulged in many different activities with friends, fishing and cherished moments of tranquility. JT's companionship with his dogs spoke volumes of his kind and loving nature.
JT's life was a beacon of strength, generosity and pride, qualities that he passed down to his family. He is survived by his wife, Mary King; sons, Robert King and Jimmy King (Jen); grandchildren, Robbie, Erica, Thomas (TJ), and Cody King; great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Hailey King; sister, Shirley Stull (Larry); and brother, Pete King, and special friends Sue Brice, John and Debbie Baker, and Pat Kelley. JT was preceded in death by his son, John King, his parents, Rachel and Ralph King, niece Lisa Stull, and nephews David Stull, Timmy and Petey King.
JT's legacy is one of love, strength, courage, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones and his community. His memory will be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared by his family and friends and the strong values he instilled in his loved ones.
The family has entrusted Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, Maryland, with the arrangements. The family will receive visitors on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm.. A short visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 10am with the funeral service following at 11am. Resthaven Memorial Gardens is located at 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, Maryland 21701.
