Obituary
Leila Mae Spahr, 96, died August 30th, 2022. She was daughter of William & Florence Phiel of Chambersburg Pa. She was the mother of 5 children: the late Sharon (Spahr) Miles, William and wife Sandy, the late Teliah (Spahr) Burdett, Alan and wife Laure, and Robin.
After moving to Maryland, she worked at McCrory's five and dime, Spiegel & Co., and Walkersville Pharmacy. After her husband retired, they bought a small farm in Rocky Ridge, where she had two mini horses and a mini donkey which she took care of until she was in her late eighties. She was especially excited when her great grandson Matthew Doody and wife Brittany named their daughter Leila Hazel Doody after the two grandmothers. She also loved going to Mountain Gate Family Restaurant every Friday with her sons for lunch and the more people that came to eat with them the more she liked it.
She was preceded in death by Husband of 61 yrs. William Howard Spahr, daughter Sharon (Spahr) Miles and husband William E Miles, daughter Teliah (Spahr) Burdett, grandson Billy (Bubby) Spahr, grandson Sean Travis Miles, granddaughter Amber Burdett, and daughter-in-law Beverly (Bentz) Spahr, wife of Robin. She is survived by granddaughter Kelle (Spahr) Yingling which she also adopted as her own, granddaughter Heidi (Spahr) Adkins, granddaughters Jerrilynn Spahr, Gabriel Grubb and Aran (Miles) Wolfe, and grandson Ian Miles. She also has many great grandchildren and a few great-great-grandchildren. Interment will be graveside at Resthaven Memorial Gardens on Thursday, September 8 at 9:30 am, for family only.
