Obituary
Laura Patricia (Brandenburg) Rosencrantz, 52, passed peacefully from this earth due to complications from Lupus on January 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 17, 1966 in Frederick, MD. Laura was a 1984 graduate of Frederick High School and was employed as a Budget Analyst at the Department of Energy in Germantown, MD where she worked for 35 years. She was an active member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church in Urbana. Laura is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Bayard B. Rosencrantz, Jr. of Urbana; her loving son, Andrew B. Rosencrantz of Urbana; brother, Michael Brandenburg and wife Cindy of Urbana; and mother, Mary Brandenburg of Urbana. She was predeceased by her father, Norman Edward Brandenburg. Laura loved camping with Bayard and their dog, Ginger, at every opportunity and adored spending time with her son, Andrew, who was the joy of her life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and caring for animals. Laura was a kind and gentle woman who loved children and always placed the needs of others before her own. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 16th from 4-8 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Urbana Volunteer Fire Department at 3602 Urbana Pike, Frederick, MD on January 17th at 1130 AM.
