Obituary
Mr. LaRue Davis Johnson, 78, passed away at his home in Dickerson on March 14, 2018. Born September 5, 1939, he was the son of the late Kenous Elmer Johnson and Beulah Armentrout Whetzel. LaRue attended Brunswick High School and worked on several dairy farms in the Knoxville area. He later became a plumber, and he worked in the plumbing trade until his retirement. He was an avid racer at the 75/80 Drag Strip in Monrovia, and he loved auctions, dealing in antiques, enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. LaRue is survived by four brothers and three sisters: Alfred Ray Johnson of Romney, WV, Douglas Arthur Johnson, also of Romney, Sidney Hensey Johnson of Viewtown, VA, and Franklin Kay Johnson of Georgia, Nancy Lee Mills of Monrovia, MD, Helen Amanda Meksvanh of Bethesda, MD, and Charity Ray Johnson of Innwood, WV; and a half-brother, Elmer Johnson. He will also be remembered by close friends, Curtis and Barbara Carter, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18th from 1 - 3 PM in the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 19th.
