Have so many memories of Larry over the years it is hard to pick just one memory. I remember we used to plant a big garden every year on the farm. I used to complain about picking, the rows seemed to go on forever, Larry would just say better get pickin, them beans ain't gonna pick themselves.
I remember when I started fishing, he took me one day we started at the bridge on Big Woods Road and fished the creek all the way to the farmhouse. Caught fall fish, suckers, bluegill, red eye bass and even a couple of trout. Took em back cleaned them up and then cooked and ate them tasted great!
If anyone remembers hunting in Garret County, Larry was the cook for the deer camp and cooked up the best dinners you could imagine. I remember being in camp 1975 got 4 feet of snow and we were snowed in. Larry always had plenty for us to eat and we were in the kitchen he was cooking a roast and steam was running down the walls. We were listening to the radio and heard that snow equipment was being sent up from all around MD, he looked at me and said we are going to be here awhile and then cracked up laughing. He was never bothered by anything.
He was a great storyteller; I could sit and listen to him for hours and just laugh and laugh. Always remember carnival time both Hyattstown and Urbanna he was always in the kitchen. Helped him when he had the greenhouses during the summer when growing up.
Just a few memories, he was a great Uncle and I will never forget him.
