Kenneth W. Reed's Obituary
Kenneth W. Reed, 91, of Thurmont, MD, went home to be with the Lord on April 26, 2026.
He was born near Keymar, MD, on July 31, 1934, to the late Vernon A. Reed and Ethel S. Deberry.
Kenneth was married to the Mary C. (Davis). They were blessed with 66 years together before she went home to be with the Lord.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his brother John V. Reed and Richard Wayne Reed. And his brother-in-law Chester Kerns, sister-in-law Ada Kerns and Charlotte Reed.
Kenneth is survived by his daughters, Brenda Angell and husband Jay and Susan Eyler and husband Randy all of Thurmont; grandchildren, Joshua Angell (Kristina), Kelly Czerkies (Jonathan), Daniel Eyler (Grace), and Michael Angell (Mariah); great grandchildren, Alexis, Kaitlyn, Wyatt, Jaxon, and Emmalyn. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Tom Davis and Howard Davis (Linda); along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Kenneth served in the Army as a mechanic and spent some time in Germany. After his service, he worked in construction most of his life. He worked for Kinsey Construction Company until its closing then went to work for Miller & Long. After retiring from there, he went to work at Walmart as a greeter, which he truly enjoyed, for many years.
He attended Morning Star Family Church in Thurmont, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to his church or to any Veteran Association of your choice.
His family would like to express our deepest appreciation to his caregivers at Spring Arbor Assisted Living and to the Hospice Care team. Each of you were a blessing to our Dad and to us. Thank you!
Services will be on Monday May 4th at Resthaven Funeral Home, 9501 Catoctin Mt. Hwy. Visitation time is from 10am-11am with the funeral service starting at 11:00.
