Kenneth "Kenny" Mongold's Obituary
Obituary
Kenneth (Kenny) Myers Mongold spirit was set free. He passed away at his home on June 30th, 2016. He was 59. Born on February 17, 1957 in Washington, DC to his parents, Junior Myers Mongold and Carol Lynn Mongold. Kenny grew up to become a brilliant carpenter who could turn any piece of wood into a masterpiece. He was blessed with an amazing eye for construction and remodeling, a skill for which he used to turn many a project from something ordinary to something absolutely extraordinary. Kenny loved to garden, cook and eat. He loved to grow vegetables, especially tomato plants. Nothing was better than a sun warmed, homegrown tomato sandwich loaded with Miracle Whip. His culinary skills were always appreciated and adored by his friends and family. He loved food and the joy that it brought to not only everyone around him, but most importantly to himself. Always a planner, not a day would go by where could be eating breakfast, yet still begin to organize what he was going to make for dinner. Kenny's love of carpentry was matched only by the love he had for West Virginia. His roots ran deep here. He would spend many days admiring the simply amazing view. Kenny is survived by his mother Carol, his brother James, two step brothers Bill and Dale, daughter Jessica, and three grandsons Kaleb, Jacob, and Marcus. A memorial will be held at Aspen Hill Christian on Wednesday, July 20th at 2:00 pm. A part of him will be joining his brother and step father at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. With the love that we all had for Kenny and with his spirit in our hearts, we would like to share the words to his favorite song; Take Me Home by John Denver.
