Mr. Kemmer Lawrence Burgess Sr, 69, of Mineral, VA (formerly of Thurmont) died May 12, 2017. He was the loving husband of Susie Burgess, his wife of 49 years. He was born July 24, 1947 in Olney, MD. to the late Ernest Allen Burgess Sr and Nancy Lawrence Burgess. Kemmer was a retired land surveyor who enjoyed holidays and family gathering; boating; and his property at Lake Anna in Virginia with family and friends. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Kemmer Burgess Jr and wife Helen of Woodsboro; grandchildren, Krystal Gray and Jarret Burgess, and two great-grandchildren; Ayden Wolfe and Colson Wolfe. Three brothers; Zane Burgess, Ernie Burgess and Doug Burgess, sister; Janet Burgess Trykowski. And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be missed by his good friends, Danny and Edith Harrison. He was predeceased by his brother, David Burgess. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 17th from 6-8 PM at the Historical Chapel at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick where a service will take place on Thursday, May 18th at 10AM. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Kemmer Burgess Jr, Jarret Burgess, Doug Burgess, Steven Burgess, William Burgess, Danny Harrison, Eddie Stull and Brandon Jeannotte.
