Katherine Mock's Obituary
Katherine Irene “Snookie” Mock, 82, of Frederick, Maryland, peacefully gained her wings on August 27, 2025, holding her beloved husband’s hand and surrounded by her family. She was born on February 4, 1943, in Washington County, MD.
Snookie was preceded in death by her siblings William Kruger, Clara Goff, John Tobery, Doris Mock, Rosalie Huse, Clifford (Jr) Jewell, Frank Jewell, and wife Patty, sister-in-law Jean Jewell. Grandchildren Matthew Lansdowne, Dusty Manahan, Luke, and Abigail Lansdowne. She is survived by her siblings, Robert Jewell and wife Janet, Reed Jewell, and sister-in-law Ruby Shane.
Snookie shared a beautiful life with her husband, John Wayne Mock. Married for 54 years, theirs was a love story admired by all who knew them. Through every season of life, John stood by her side, caring for her with unwavering devotion. Together, they built not only a home but also a legacy of love, strength, and commitment that became the heart of their family. Their bond was one that friends and family looked up to—an example of true partnership, dedication, and tender care.
Together, Snookie and John raised five children: Daniel Lansdowne Sr. and wife Aureny, Mary Kauffman and husband Coffee, Wesley Lansdowne and wife Kayla, Janet Seipler, Brian Seipler Sr., and Lisa Macek. Their family grew to include 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and even her beloved four-legged baby, Izzy. Each of them brought her endless joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Despite health challenges, Snookie’s spirit never dimmed. She was a woman full of gratitude, humor, and unconditional love. Her quick wit and infectious laugh lit up every room, and her family adored her deeply.
Snookie was also an avid bowler for many years at Terrace Lanes, where she treasured the friendships she built with her bowling family. She loved her cooking shows, card games, and collecting treasures—always with a story or sentimental reason behind each one. More than anything, Snookie was the heart of her family. Her love and laughter will forever echo through the lives she touched, and the devotion she and John shared will remain a shining example of true, enduring love. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Frederick, Maryland.
Family and friends are invited to honor Snookie’s life at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick on Friday, September 12, with visitation from 10–11 a.m., followed by a funeral service from 11 a.m.–12 p.m. Your presence would be a cherished comfort as we celebrate her memory.
