Karen Rhoderick's Obituary
Ms. Karen (Ray) Rhoderick, of Frederick, MD, passed away on September 12, 2025 at Autumn Lake Healthcare, Braddock Heights, MD. She was the wife of the late Thomas Rhoderick. Born on December 11, 1946 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Mary (Grimes) Ray.
Karen graduated from Linganore High School in 1965 and the Frederick Beauty Academy in 1966. After earning her cosmetology license, she worked as a hair dresser for 53 years at various salons in the Frederick area, including Touch of Elegance where she’ll be fondly remembered. Her pride and joy was her Boston Terrier, Coby. In her free time, Karen enjoyed watching NASCAR, gardening and going to flea markets. She was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Karen leaves to cherish her memory: sister, Connie Hawker and husband Kenny; nephew, Brian Hawker; cousin, Cindy Rippeon-Kehne and longtime friends, Carol Thomas-Spicer; Pat Harley and Shirley Mulligan. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Frye.
The family will observe a graveside ceremony Monday, September 22, 2025 at 11am at Clustered Spires Cemetery (Also known as Frederick Memorial Park, Linden Hills Cemetery).
