Julia "Julie" V. (Colizza) Vento, 88, of Frederick, entered into eternal rest on October 24, 2017 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was a loving and devoted wife of 62 years to husband Arthur V. Vento. Born on January 4, 1929, in Hays, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Colizza and second mother, Domenica Colizza. Julie was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a longtime member of Saint John the Evangelist Church in Frederick. Before the birth of her children, Julie worked as an underwriter for General Accident Insurance Company in Pittsburgh. After the birth of her first child, Julie devoted her life to making a loving home for her husband and children. Her welcoming hospitality and cheerful spirit extended to everyone she met. She is loved and will be missed by many. In addition to her husband, Julie is survived by her four children, Dolores Fuhrman, Mary Singleton and husband Dwayne, Johann Vento and husband Michael Linderman, and Arthur J. Vento; one brother, John Colizza and wife Anita; grandchildren, Kelly Kearns and husband Andrew, Colin Singleton, Ben Singleton, Maria Royce and husband Brandon, Holly Fuhrman, Francesca Singleton, Mira Linderman-Vento and Sam Linderman-Vento; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Julie was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Vento; son-in-law, John Fuhrman; siblings, Louise Painter and husband Charles, Anthony Colizza and wife Minnie, Edward Colizza and wife Laura, Albert Colizza and wife Ann, Frank Colizza and wife Martha, Joseph Colizza and Dolores Colizza; and brothers-in-law, Robert Vento and wife Edna, and William Vento and wife Bonnie; and her in laws, Dominic and Mary Vento. The family will receive friends from 2-8pm on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 E. Second Street, Frederick. Father Kevin Farmer will celebrate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
