Juanita Fay Smith's Obituary
Juanita Fay Smith, age 78, Jonesborough TN, known by most as Sissy went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 15, 2025 in her home with her family by her side.
Born in Scott County VA to the late Stalard and Grace Barnette.
Sissy lived in her beloved state of Maryland for most of her life. She moved to Jonesborough, Tennessee to be closer to her children and grandchildren where she has lived for the past 8 years. Her last place of residence in MD was Boonsboro. She faithfully attended Boonsboro Family Worship Center and adored Pastor Jack and his family. Sissy was the best mother and grandmother that anyone could ask for. She will be deeply missed.
Sissy was preceded in death by her husband Steven Smith, parents Stalard and Grace Barnette, sister Cleo Johnson (Lee), Brother Gene Barnette (Genie).
She leaves behind her daughter Priscilla Auvil Fontenot, son Jimmie Auvil Jr., grandchildren Corinna Fontenot, Kyle Fontenot (Hailey), Emi Fontenot, Jackson Fontenot, Nevaeh Fontenot, and Skye Fontenot. Great grandchildren Braylon Fontenot and Kenleigh Fontenot, sister Marlene Riley (Gene),brother Kenny Barnette (Joanne), brother Verlin Barnette (Kathy) Nieces and nephews and special people Danny Adams, Tosha Grant, and Roy.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Resthaven Memorial Garden, 9501 Catoctin Mtn Hwy, Frederick, MD 21701 with Pastor Jack Payne officiating the service.
