Joyce Louise Boyd, nee Ansell was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 28, 1944 to Emma Rose (nee Grimm) and Ellis Raymond Ansell. After a short residence in Baltimore, they moved to Leisenring, Pennsylvania where she grew up. Joyce has one surviving sister, Mary Catherine Ansell who is one year older. During her high school years, Joyce played the bassoon in the Dunbar Township Band. She graduated high school in 1962, matriculating to Waynesburg College of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania where she earned her degree in Mathematics.
After graduating from college, she took a computer class in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On December 29, 1966, she married the love of her life, Murray W. Boyd, Jr. The happy couple relocated to Hillcrest Heights and then Braddock Heights, Maryland. At the time she applied for employment at the Water Pollution program of the Federal Government to later be know as the Environmental Protection Agency, where she worked twenty-five years until retirement. After retirement she and Murray loved travelling the United States. Until recently, they wintered in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Joyce heroically battled chronic illness for many years entering into Eternal rest on June 29, 2022. She is already tremendously missed by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Murray W. Boyd, Jr. As Joyce was a very private individual, she requested private services and interment. Arrangements and Interment by the Resthaven Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.
